A photojournalist, he was born on the 27th of January 1973, in Leiria.

He started his professional career in 1999. He took a photography course in ARCO and frequented the MAUMAUS school of visual arts.

He has been a photojournalist for the newspaper Jornal de Leiria since the year 2000, having collaborated with several Portuguese newspapers, such as Público (local correspondent), Expresso and Jornal i. He won prizes in photojournalism, with special reference to the Excellence Prize and silver medal in photography given by the Society for News Design in 2012 and 2018, the silver medal in 2013 and best cover of the year 2017 with a photo of the fires in Pedrogão Grande in “Melhor Design Jornalístico na Península Ibérica”. He is the official photographer of Concerts for Babies and of the project the Forest of Arts (a unique festival for babies). He has participated in exhibitions, illustrated books and is the author of a few documentary videos.
